I am new to internal martial arts education and was wondering if Qigong practice in the evening was beneficial?  I know that early morning is preferred but was wondering about pros and cons of other times of the day.

I wouldn't recommend to do Qigong in the evening. Your hormone levels are best in the morning, and that is when the circulation needs to kick in - not when you are ready to sleep. Better practice light Tai Chi in the evening.
